I’m experimenting with the “boat” technique I have selected the following keywords to target:

These are the new pages with an exact match sub domain name

• dirt cheap seo services
• your seo services
• local seo services for businesses
• youtube seo

I made a Squidoo lens for “local seo services for businesses” ( it links back to the individual page I’m targeting for that phrase and the root domain)
I made a Squidoo lens for “dirt cheap seo services” ( it links back to the individual page I’m targeting for that phrase and the root domain)

I made a Squidoo lens for “your seo services” ( it links back to the individual page I’m targeting for that phrase and the root domain)

I made a Squidoo lens for “youtube seo” ( it links back to the individual page I’m targeting for that phrase and the root domain)

Checked Google SERPS (search engine results pages) to see if either the new pages I created on Friday or the Suidoo Lens showed up. Here are the surprising results:

dirt cheap seo services
-The new page showed up but the Squidoo lens hasnt been indexed

las vegas social media optimization –  Ewing Enterprise ranks # 1 for the press release, #4 for the Squidoo lens and our sub page with the keyword as an exact match isn’t ranked in the top 10 page results.

Mn seo – Ewing Enterprise squidoo lens ranks #25 and our sub page  isn’t in the top 10

Dirt cheap seo services– our sub page is ranked #2 and our case study with the one phrase about dirt cheap seo services is ranked #3

Here is a quick list of some of the keywords we will be targeting for December as you can see November was a pretty successful effort. We are going to double our efforts this month.

I have noticed that the phrase “I need a website” has 24 searches per day for the exact match and is a strong call action for our campaigns. I updated the page title on the home page to include the phrase “I Need A website” and an edited the meta description . I removed social media packages because based on SEO Moz open site explorer it has zero competition. Kinda sucks because I spent a ton of energy working on that keyword. Oh well good practice.

• #2 ranking is by an exact match domain with low page authority and ZERO sites linking in to its root domain which makes me think that it is in this position based on the strength of its exact match to the search query. I think changing our home page title to include the phrase ” I need a website” will have a positive impact.
